*NEW*

Prayer -- TOMORROW: Please join members of City Church’s leadership and staff to pray for City Church on Thursday, October 27th from 7-8am at the church office (1520 W. Main Street, Suite 105).

No Children's Worship on Sunday: As this Sunday is the 5th Sunday of the month, we will not be holding Children's Worship. We encourage parents to worship with their children and see it as an opportunity to teach them about the service. Nursery care (for ages 0-3) will still be available.

Session Meeting: The City Church elders will hold their monthly session meeting this Sunday. If you have any questions, concerns, or prayer requests you'd like for them to address at the meeting, please contact Erik (erik [at] citychurchrva.com). Save the Date: Baby Shower for Olivia Hall -- November 19th: Save the date for a baby shower honoring Olivia Hall on Saturday, November 19th at 11am. More details to follow. *REMINDERS*

Downtown Lunch — begins TOMORROW: Starting Thursday, October 27th, City Church will hold monthly lunches downtown. Erik will speak for 10 to 15 minutes and then we will share a meal and a conversation around the table. This month we will meet from 12pm to 1pm at Peking (1302 E. Cary Street). All are welcome!

City Church Forum 2 — TOMORROW: Our next installment of our City Church Forum will take place on Thursday, October 27th from 7:30 to 9pm at the Joel House at Beth Ahabah (1123 W. Franklin Street). Amy Julia Becker will be speaking about her book, A Good and Perfect Gift: Faith, Expectations, and a Little Girl Named Penny, a ‘momoir’ reflecting on Amy Julia’s life as the mother of a daughter born with Down Syndrome and grace she has received from the experience.

Church-Based Community Development Training (CCDA): October 29th, 9am-4pm: Noel Castellanos, CEO of the Christian Community Development Association (CCDA) will be facilitating a training on how to love our under-resourced neighbors and neighborhoods through church-based community development ministry. Mercy Fund — October 30th: As this Sunday is the last one of the month we will be taking contributions to our Mercy Fund. The Mercy Fund is kept separate from our regular budget and is used to provide financial support to members of our congregation and community who are in need. Please prayerfully consider what you might be willing to contribute. Love Your Kids Seminar – November 5th: West End Presbyterian Church (9008 Quioccasin Road) will be hosting a one-day seminar for parents of young children (0-12 years). “Love Your Kids” is designed to grow in you the heart of God toward your children. Tickets are $25/couple for WEPC attendees; $65/couple outside of WEPC. Visit www.wepc.org to learn more and to register.

Save the Date: City Church Harvest Party – November 19th: City Church will have our annual Harvest Party on Saturday, November 19th (rescheduled from November 5th) at 4pm at Richard and Eniko Rumrill’s home in St. Stephens Church (directions to follow).City Church Forum 3 — December 1st: The final City Church Forum of the fall will feature Katie Nienow on Thursday, December 1st. Katie is the Director of Development for Hope International, a micro finance ministry, where she has worked for the last five years. Katie will speak on the topic of ‘Your Money and Your Heart’–a particularly relevant subject for consideration during the holiday rush of spending and consumption. The forum will meet from 7:30 to 9pm at the Joel House at Beth Ahabah.
