*NEW* "Child Artists, Child Soldiers No More:" Restoration and Reconciliation in Northern Uganda On May 6th at 7pm, Third Presbyterian Church (600 Forest Avenue) will be hosting Andrew Briggs, founder and president of Freedom in Creation, as he shares his story as well as what he has learned about the interaction between faith and justice, particularly as it pertains to human dignity and humanitarianism. Freedom in Creation empowers war-affected communities in Northern Uganda through increased access to the therapeutic qualities of art, international education, and fresh drinking water. Children's Ministry Director City Church is looking to hire a part-time children's ministry director who will oversee continued development and implementation of our ministry to children. The position will be 10-15 hours/week and will begin by August 1, 2011. Those interested should contact search team member Janet Wilhelm (jbwilhelm [at] verizon.net) for a complete position description and a set of application questions. The application deadline is June 1, 2011.

Loaves & Fishes Our next opportunity to serve at Loaves & Fishes will be this Sunday, May 15th. We will meet at the Conrad Center (1400 Oliver Hill Way) from 11am to around 2pm to prepare and serve the meal. May 15th Worship Service & Get-Together Due to a previously scheduled event at Beth Ahabah on Sunday, May 15, City Church will hold worship at All Saints Presbyterian Church (3000 Grove Avenue) at 3pm. Parking near All Saints can be tricky and is exclusively on nearby streets, so please plan accordingly. Nursery and children's worship will be provided. Andrew and Caley Crawford (3326 Grove Avenue) will be hosting a picnic/get-together at their home following the service. More details to follow. (This will be serving as our Vespers get-together for May.)

City Church Basics, 5/15 & 5/22 The next session of City Church Basics is scheduled for May 15th and May 22nd -- two consecutive Sunday mornings from 10am to noon. Church Basics explains who we are as a church and what it means to be a member. It is a necessary step towards formally joining the church, although membership is not required.
